1. Is it hard to learn Slovak?
No. With the right teacher, teaching materials and mindset you can achieve your goal of learning Slovak to a conversational level without problems.
2. How long does it take to learn Slovak?
It depends on your current level, your native language, where you live, how much time you can spend studying a week and your language learning experience. But generally speaking, my students reach conversational fluency in one or two years if they start from zero.
3. Do you teach Slovak to groups or individuals?
Both. I offer individual Slovak lessons and 3-month group courses. Group courses typically begin at the start of each season. For more information, feel free to contact me via email or Instagram.
4. How do I sign up for a Slovak course or a lesson?
For courses, there is a registration form at the Courses section. First choose your course, then fill out the information and pay to receive the link. For individual lessons, contact me via email or Instagram to check availability of time slots.
5. What kind of Slovak teaching materials do you offer?
For beginner and false beginner students I recommend my "Hej! A1 Complete beginner textbook" that includes grammar explanations, exercises, dialogues, audio recordings, answer key, dictionary and more. If you enjoy learning by reading and listening and already know the basics, I recommend "Bratislava a jej príbehy" — eleven short stories to improve your vocabulary and comprehension. For grammar overview, specifically verbs, you can get my book "Slovak verbs in a nutshell".
6. How do I buy books and pay for lessons?
You can pay by card, via PayPal, or through bank transfer.
7. How do I access my purchased materials?
After payment you will get an email with a download link and a confirmation of your purchase.
